Sport Life — sports partner of international 3rd Interpipe Dnipro Half Marathon 2018!

On May 20 a big sports holiday of global level — 3rd Interpipe Dnipro Half Marathon was held in Dnipro with the support of the network of fitness clubs Sport Life. Traditionally Dnipro Half Marathon, organized by Run Ukraine company, remains the main sports event of the city and attracts more and more participants every year. This year INTERPIPE Dnipro Half Marathon has gathered 8000 spectators and about 3000 racing fans from 11 countries: Ukraine, Belarus, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Poland, Turkey, United States, United Arab Emirates and India. Traditionally, the half marathon route ran along Dniprovska naberezhna, start and finish — at the central Square of Maidan Heroes. 

Ihor Heletiy, who had finished with the result 1:06:24, became the winner of main distance among the men — 21. 0975 km. Ihor Porozov with the time 1:06:32 took the second place. Dmytro Lashyn with the result 1:07:19 became a bronze medallist. These three leaders were together 15 kilometres, but then two Ihors started to pull away, and two kilometres before the finish Ihor Heletiy managed to speed up and left no chances for his competitors. 

Daria Mykhailova with the result 1:14:12 became the woman's all-around winner, that is by 7 minutes and 25 seconds faster than Anna Pechko’s record of 2017. Natalia Strebkova took the second place in her first half marathon with the time 1:15:33. Olena Serdiuk with the result 1:15:57 was the last of the top three. All finishers of the main distance got the commemorative medals decorated with the Cossack’s gull symbolizing proud history of Dnipro city. 

The participants of Dnipro Half Marathon also competed in other individual — 5 km and 2 km, and relay races. Traditionally, there were organized 100, 500 and 1000 metres distances for children. Family Run also took place, where family teams with different members could take part. A charitable Fundraising Marathon was organized for the first time during the event, which gathered the funds to support projects of 3 funds on the platform of the Ukrainian Charity Exchange: “Open palms”, “Helping”, “Kiddo”. 

It is encouraging that there are no age limits for running! 71-year-old Ukrainian Vitaliy Serdiuk, who won in his age group at 21 km among the men with the result 2:12:27, and 68-year-old Liudmyla Maidyk among the women at 5 km distance became the oldest participants of this year. 

This year the event was unique as it went outside the city. As part of the preparation for the marathon, everyone interested could visit trainings Open Run Day for free in four cities of Dnipropetrovsk region: Dnipro, Nikopol, Kamianske and Novomoskovsk. 

As a result of excellent organization 3rd Interpipe Dnipro Half Marathon 2018 got the highest rate — 5 stars from the European Athletic Association. This is the highest level of certification and estimation developed by the leading European experts!
